Nigerian VP Osinbajo says about 800 herdsmen have been held over violent attacks



Security agencies in Nigeria have arrested about 800 suspected violent herdsmen across the country, according to Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo.
Osinbajo made this disclosure in Houston, Texas in the US on Friday at a Townhall event where he interacted with US-based Nigerians who asked questions at the event and also via the Internet, according to a statement issued by his spokesperson Mr. Laolu Akande.

Nine killed, scores injured in Maiduguri twin- suicide attack



Borno, Nigeria - At least nine persons were killed following an early morning twin bomb attack in Maiduguri, the capital city of Borno State, a rescue official has said.
The source also added that about 84 persons have sustained various degrees of injuries in the blasts.

Over 240 persons convicted in Benin City Nigeria for violation of sanitation laws



Two hundred and forty-five persons were convicted by two separate Mobile Courts on Saturday in Benin for violation of the state’s Sanitation and Pollution Management Law No 5 of 2010.
The two courts sat at Ramat Park and Sapele roads within Benin metropolis.

The Controller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Services (NIS), CGI Mohammed Babandede, who made the disclosure while giving an update on the challenges of border control during media parley in Abuja yesterday, also revealed that discussions are already in top gear with European countries for the safe repatriation of the stranded immigrants.
