Gunmen Kill Police Officer On His Way Home From Night Duty, Cart Away Rifle In Abia

Nigeria - Anxiety pervaded the air over the weekend as a Police officer identified as Inspector Amadi Kingdom was been fatally shot by unknown gunmen in Abia State while returning from night duty.




Sources in Umuahia, the state capital, said he was killed in the early hours of Saturday at Ochendu Bye-pass.
Sources said the police officer was returning from night duty when he was gunned down.

His killers were said to be robbers who also went away with his   gun.

Commissioner of Police Eneh Okon confirmed the incident, adding that a manhunt for the assailants had begun.
