The World Health Organization, WHO, regional office for Africa in Brazzaville, Congo, has revealed countries with the highest COVID-19 death cases.
Africa has recorded 11,052 deaths due to complications arising from COVID-19.
According to the latest figure released by WHO, the number of COVID-19 cases in Africa has risen to 461,203 in the past 24 hours.
Africa has also recorded more than 222,000 recoveries from COVID-19 infections.
As of Sunday, Egypt has 3,280 reported deaths, the highest number on the continent, followed by South Africa with 3,026 fatalities and Algeria with 946 deaths.
Africa’s most populous country, Nigeria, has recorded 634 reported deaths.
Other countries are Sudan (608 deaths), Cameroon (313 deaths), Morocco (232 deaths), DR Congo (181 deaths), Kenya (159 deaths), Mauritania (129 deaths), Senegal (129 deaths), Mali (118 deaths) and Ghana (117 deaths).
