Three Nigerian men, Samuel Ogoshi, 22; Samson Ogochi, 20; and Ezekiel Ejehem Robert, 19; are being charged with sexually extorting more than 100 minors and adults in the Western District of Michigan, and across the United States.
The charges were announced on Wednesday by the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Michigan Mark Totten, after the federal indictment was unsealed.
According to the Department of Justice, on March 25, 2022, 17-year-old DeMay was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
His death prompted an investigation by the Marquette County Sheriff’s Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which led to the indictment which was unsealed on Wednesday.
The DoJ claims that Samuel disguised himself using the Instagram alias “dani.robertts,” tricking Jordan into sending a nude photo of himself.
It further alleges that Samuel and his accomplices carried out the despicable ruse on more than 100 victims.
The grand jury alleges that the defendants bought hacked social media accounts and used the accounts to pose as young women to lure teenage and young adult males into sexual chats.
